Earth Day BioBlitz with iNaturalist

Thursday, April 22, 2021
All Locations
Celebrate Earth Day and biodiversity with a BioBlitz! Find and identify as many plants and animals as possible using the iNaturalist app in any of the following parks: Mirabeau Point Park in Spokane Valley, Sutton Park in Cheney, and Library Park in Deer Park. Record the birds in the sky, the insects by your feet, and the plants and trees all around! After a week of collecting information, we will meet to showcase what everyone has found in our community parks. Students and faculty from the Eastern Washington University Biology department will answer questions about the local plants and wildlife. All ages

To participate: Download the iNaturalist app (free) to your device and explore one of the three community parks between April 15 and April 22. Use the iNaturalist app to record and take pictures of the plants and wildlife you find. Each park will have a project page in the iNaturalist app to collect observations and photographs of what you find.

Registration is required, and you’ll need to provide email to receive login information.
