Resident Artist: Watercolor Values Landscape

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Event Details

Putting brush to paper when you’ve never painted before can be a little intimidating, especially with so many colors to choose from. In this workshop, we take the fear out of the watercolor painting when we use a single color to create a simple winter landscape painting. This program will walk you through the basics of painting watercolors and jumpstart your journey into this beautiful medium! Supplies will be available for pick up at North Spokane Library for all registered participants. Ages 12+

Registration is required, and you’ll need email to receive login information.

Allison Hawes is a preschool teacher and self-taught artist, born and raised in Spokane. She creates art primarily through the mediums of watercolor and digital illustration. Her art journey started after taking high school painting classes and stumbling into the world of digital art when wondering how children’s book illustrations looked so crisp and clean. What followed was a period of exploration and research into how the world of digital art worked. Hawes has taken in as much information as she can find on the subject and has invested in the hardware needed to create. She finds joy in painting animals, forests, and florals. She hopes to illustrate children’s books someday soon.
