Drawing and illustration have evolved in many ways over recent years. With advancements in technology, creating art has gone from strictly pen and paper to include a screen and mouse or stylus. In this lecture, Allison Hawes goes over everything you need to get started creating art digitally, including different hardware options, drawing programs, and online resources available to take your creativity and passion for art into the digital landscape. No supplies are needed. Just bring any questions you might have. Ages 12+

Registration is required, and you’ll need email to receive login information.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Allison Hawes is a preschool teacher and self-taught artist, born and raised in Spokane. She creates art primarily through the mediums of watercolor and digital illustration. Her art journey started after taking high school painting classes and stumbling into the world of digital art when wondering how children’s book illustrations looked so crisp and clean. What followed was a period of exploration and research into how the world of digital art worked. Hawes has taken in as much information as she can find on the subject and has invested in the hardware needed to create. She finds joy in painting animals, forests, and florals. She hopes to illustrate children’s books someday soon.
