Let There Be Legos
One day, thousands of Legos. What better way to spend a Saturday!
Bring the family as our traveling Lego Build Day stops at each Spokane County Library throughout 2014.

Drop in for an hour or all day! Enjoy some snacks and build to your heart’s content. Your awesome creations will be on display at that library for the month. Then they will be dismantled and the Legos shipped off to the next library for their Lego Build Day. Follow the Legos to as many build days as you like!

Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for this fun, family friendly activity! All ages welcome, but children 6 and under should be accompanied by an adult.

Waltz! Salsa! Swing! Six-week series

Ages 14 and up

Marianna di Lorenzo, of Simply Dance Studio, presents a six-week course, featuring three of the most popular dances known to the social dance floor. Each dance will be taught over a two-week interval, starting with one of the most popular dances in the world; the Salsa, followed by America’s most well-known dance; the East Coast Swing, and ending with the oldest, most elegant, and best surviving dance in the ballroom; the American Waltz!

Each class will include an hour of basics and the secrets of a successful dance partnership, combined with the patterns, style, musicality and particulars of the dance being featured. Partner recommended, but not necessary.

Please wear comfortable clothes to move in and shoes that aren’t too cumbersome or bulky, ex: a man’s dress shoe, or a lady’s low pump or loafer type shoe.

Learn the basics of drawing with an artist from The Spokane Art School. This series of classes explores the uses of line, shape, texture, value, and form, using a variety of materials. Learn to draw what you see from still life and photographs and compose interesting pictures using design principles. An introduction to color with pastels completes the course.
